Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007

This is a brief overview about what I have noticed in MOSS 2007. First there are a couple of new features that I like but they seem to have some shortcomings. The first is the Forms Authentication. It is not to hard to setup when you follow the guides that are available on the web. The issue with this is that you can not use Sharepoint Designer 2007 to modify the site once this is setup. The problem seems to be that Designer uses Windows Authentication and there is no way to change this. The second thing that I like is the Administration page. It is easier to move around and accomplish things once you get used to the layout. The problem with this is that it does not seem very intuitive at first. It took me a little while to get comfortable with the new layout. I also like the extra templates that are supplied with MOSS 2007. The feature that I really appreciate the most is that it is a lot easier to set it up with anonymous access and to restrict access to certain pages. This makes it much more usable as a web front end to the internet. This allows the software to be used in a lot of new ways. I might post more as I get more used to the product.
